Abutilon And Hibiscus

Some posts ago I wrote about Abutilon that grows near my door. The flowers of this plant seem to be similar to the flowers of hibiscus. There are many hibiscuses in our zone. Probably, this plant has not particular illnesses, is resistant on high temperatures and it does not have great crown. So you can see it in many streets here today.

Hibiscus

On the photo, this plant is cultivated like a tree. In the natural state it is a shrub.

Hibiscus

Flowers can have different colors. These 2 are most common here.

Hibiscus

I did not know that there are hibischi with many petals, so I was surprized to find this variety in Salerno.

Hibiscus

The flowers of hibiscus are used to make a very tasty infusion named karkade. But I don't knowe if they use only dark variety (Hibiscus sabdariffa)
