The Templars trial documents published

Pic from Wikipedia

Today everybody knows about Templars. Thanks to the scandalous book and film about Da Vinci Code in the last years too. After 700 years people are fascinated by these legends.

The Knights Templar, "Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon", was a medieval Christian military order. It was founded in 1118 to protect christians-pilgrims visiting the Holy Land after the Crusaders captured Jerusalem in 1099. The church needed them till the Muslim's re-conquist of Holy Land in XIII century, than they were accused in heresy and sexual misconduct, denying Christ and secretly worshipping idols. First of their enemies was King Philip IV of France because was heavily indebted to the Templars. The leaders were arrested in 1307. Pope Clement suppressed the order in 1312. Jacques de Molay, Grand Master of the Templars, was burned at the stake in 1314.

Now Vatican publishes trial documents. It will be a massive book, 300 pages, 799 copies only, with an interesting price of 5900 euros (or $8,377?).

More about it you can read in a "Daily mail" and others articles.
